Hey man,
Well i cant teach you how to make grunge walls since you would copy my style eventually but i can only help you get a foot hold on the grunge sense of making walls.

I prefer it if you download texture brushes from sites, experiment with light and dark contrasts in lighting of a character, learn the graphic design style to where you position text and how color scheme theory really makes a difference.
